JOIN US APRIL 26, 2020 – Toledo, Ohio
The marathon is in Toledo, Ohio but why is it called the Glass City Marathon? The event gets its name from the City of Toledo’s nickname, the Glass City. Toledo took this nickname on because of its long history and influential role in the American glass industry. You’ll get a glass mug when you cross the finish line made by Libbey Glass, headquartered in Toledo. This Boston qualifying course starts on the University of Toledo campus, heads north into the quiet neighborhoods of Old Orchard and Ottawa Hills, and leads you to the area’s finest Metroparks system utilizing the University Parks Bike Trail, concluding with a grand finish in the Glass Bowl Stadium. The course has little elevation change, smooth paved roads, and is expected to provide very fast race times and a memorable experience.
